PLA

PLA, or Poly(Lactic Acid), is typically made from fermented corn starch! Surprising, right?!

Recyclable, and biodegradable(with varying degree) PLA is finding itself with an RIC 7 recycling category. Find out more from your local recycle plant on environmentally safe methods for disposal as a traditional landfill is not recommended.

Pretty Pretty PrintPress is also more than happy to melt and re-use your PLA filament scrap/waste at one of our local stores!

PETG

PETG, or Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-Modified, is a PET based plastic with a modified molecular structure. The addition of Glycol gives PETG a lower melting point than PET, but higher than PLA making it extremely useful for FDM printing.

PETG provides a stronger and more durable material found in a variety of uses!

Along with PLA, PETG falls into the RIC 7 recycling category.
